Interviews
Over the next two weeks we will be learning the interview process. We will be using two format types, for which you will receive examples. You shall, as well, conduct two interviews: one with a classmate, to whom you will be assigned, the other to an outside individual of your choice.

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, please read chapter 4 "Doing Interviews" and complete the accompanying study guide questions.
On Wednesday, you will be tested on the following key terms: formal interview, Q and A, open-ended questions, "est" questions, stock questions, off the record and primary source. As well, 1) you should know how to conduct an effective interview, including how to structure the questions 2)  be familiar with isues related to notetaking and the use of recording, 3) know how to prepare and use stock questions, 4) know what to do if the source wants to go off record or wants to read your story before it is published and 5)  the characgteristics of an effective interview-based story.
 
As usual, open a word document and respond to the following questions. They are due by the end of class on Tuesday.
