Make sure you present representative artists from both male/female performers, as well as from white and black or minority performers. Part of your grade will depend on the following 3 things: your prezi design, your thoroughness and accuracy in your researched material, and your presentation to class. More on this will follow next class.

If I had my very own radio station I would play a variety of music because I myself don't listen to just one genre of music. TO me the idea of listening to one genre of music overtime can get a little boring and can start to make everything start to sound the same. I don't think the radio is completely out of style now that we have the wonderful aux cord but it just isn't the only way we can listen to music. I do think that streaming music will become the future of music because now that we have all this technology things are starting to become more digital.

ReplyDeleteIf I ran a commercial radio station I would ask my listeners to vote on what they want to hear according to the days of the week. The radio stations are not the past because its a big thing and everyone still listens to it. The future is the music industry because music is a big thing now!
ReplyDeleteIf I ran a commercial radio station, I’d play kinds of music that have been undiscovered or music that hasn’t been recognized enough. I’d play those kinds of music because I feel like there’s a lot of music that is constantly overplayed on the radio over and over, and even the stations that you have to pay for are quite redundant when it comes to popular songs or songs that are highly requested by people who listen to radio stations.
ReplyDeleteI would not run a radio station because I feel that the technology is outdated for the majority of the population. If I did run a radio station, I would want to be a country radio station. Before you hate me, hear me out. Country music was a big part of my childhood and spending time with my family, and I would want to give people that. However, I do feel that the future is in streaming music, as it is taking over. The ads are less invasive (or nonexistent if you pay), whereas a radio is almost always talking or on commercial.
ReplyDeleteIf I had my own radio station I would play a lot of different kinds of music because everybody does not like the same kind of music. I think that the radio will not get out of style because people listen to the radio for news everyday. People use the radio to listen to news in there cars on the way to school or work. I think that people do not listen to music as much on the radio because now, you can connect your phone to the car and play whatever music you want to. I do not think that the radio is the future of the music industry because you an listen to your own kinds of musics using apps on your phone or by using an AUX cord. People still use radios and they are helpful.
ReplyDeleteIf I ran a commercial radio station, I would you play all different kinds of music because you can't just play one specific genre of music when there's millions of people in the world who listen to different genres. In my opinion I think radio stations are media technology of the past, but the music played is involving throughout. I think the future of the music industry is in streaming music because in order to keep going and for people to grow in the music industry how many people stream their music is important.
ReplyDeleteIf I ran a radio station I would play music that isn't so popular or isn't as famous as it was first released by the artist. On my radio station you would find music that can help you while you study or need to relax. I would maybe set up a website where the listeners can comment about what songs they would like to here that fit into the cool, calm genre.I would also maybe tr to feature people on my radio station to talk about the kind of music they like or something.
ReplyDeleteMy radio station would play popular music. I'd play music that was most popular at the moment. I would often play different music and see what kind of reaction that music would get. I also would try and play music that isn't very known because they could become a hit.

ReplyDeleteif I ran a radio station the kind of music I would play is R&B. R&B is the type of music I like and its my radio station so I would play the type of music that excite me and that I enjoy. If people want to listen to jazz then i'll play that sometimes for them, but I would mainly play R&B. Radio stations is a media technology of the past. Radio stations been around for years. There was tapes. It wasn't as good as now, but radio stations were still used then. If years ago they didn't invent radio stations we wouldn't have them now. Yes I think the future of the music industry is streaming music. I think so because streaking is the fastest way to get your music to be listened to. And its easier to listen to music and better. Its the fastest growing segment of music consumption.
ReplyDeleteIf I ran a radio station, the style or genre of music I would play would probably be different eras depending on the day, so that I could attract different listens and have a wide audiences, for example like 60s Saturday or likes 70s Sunday, and people of all ages can listen and learn different music. And In my opinion radio station aren't a thing of the past, and probably wont be because they constantly change based on popularity.
ReplyDeleteif I ran a radio station I would play music that people like and music that people haven't really heard of much. I would play things that are popular and heard of but mix in things that are new to the music scene so that people don't hear the same song over and over again on each station they switch too. I think that since radio has been around for so long now it won't be fading anytime soon. the use of radio in my opinion is important and should be popular for a long time.
ReplyDeleteAs for the future of music I think that streaming and radio stations will go hand and hand as time goes on. Streaming is good for a persons own preference while radio is just what is the latest in that particular genre.
ReplyDeleteIf I was in charge of a radio station I would play all the top trending hip hop and R&B songs. I might even mix it up sometimes though. I would play these types of songs because I know a majority of listeners would be interested. As time goes by I believe that that radio stations are technology from the past because of the fact that radio stations have been around for so long and still exist and are still in affect. The future in music industry is in streaming music because that is the only way for artists to get their music to go viral.
ReplyDeleteIf I ran a radio station, I would play alternative/alternative rock, because generally there isn't a big presence of this genre on the radio. I think a lot of people listen to this genre, so there is a big audiance for this. Also, I think that radio is still really big but all I hear are pop songs, classical, jazz, oldies, and rap. Nothing else. So I would want to add a major station for alternative.
ReplyDeleteWhen I have my own freaking radio station I would play all kinds of genres. I'm talking about Pop, Hip-hip, Electro Dance Music, 1990's, Classical and many, many more. I would make this...kind of voting system where I would let the listeners vote for what they want on the radio. On Monday, if the most voted genre is pop, the pop it is! Now, on Tuesday, if the most voted genre is pop again, then I'd play the second most voted genre and as the day goes on, the genre changes based on the votes. I think this would satisfy the audience. I mean you're choosing what kind of music you want to be played on a freaking radio station, probably listened by millions of people. But sadly, you see, I need to make some paper to keep the station running. So what I do is put a whole lotta ads between every song...and that's gonna make my people annoyed and they ain't gon' listen to ma radio. And that's where they switch to streaming music. Good ol' streaming music...my(would be)worst enemy. Without ads, without no nothin'.
ReplyDeleteI think that I would play musicals on my radio station, but I would try to choose new musicals in order to expose people to them. I think that there are a lot of young people who are really into more modern musical theater with less classical scores that would be really interested in hearing what is new and coming up. I would love to add interviews with composers, directors and actors about their experience with the musical. I would also try to choose musicals that are relevant and thought provoking. Most people I know still listen to the radio every once and a while. I don't think that it will die out because it offers us a shared experience that music through headphones can't. It also exposes you to new music as you flip through channels. However, streaming music does allow you to pick what you listen to and create a personalized soundtrack, so I know that most people prefer it.
ReplyDeleteIf i ran a radio station i would have a daily topic on different things like a topic on men. A topic on girl issues and real life things like how people act like there daily actions.I also would have a part where i play different types of music like hip hop and rap and whatever some people tell me to play. Sometimes between the songs I may say little things to get people in a good mood.
